Press Intern
Office of U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, September 2023, December 2023
- Served as part of the Senator’s communications staff, including social media graphics, analysis, and copy. Lead the survey response team for the Senator’s constituent outreach.
- Developed a strong understanding of Congressional press office operations and the relationship between politicians and the media.
- Responsible for assembling daily news clips for the Senator and his team, including clips about him, his work, Vermont issues and people, and national and international news.
- Photographed and videoed the Senator’s press conferences and events. Edited and produced high-quality visual content for social media, press releases, and newsletters.
Newsroom Intern
Vermont Public | Vermont NPR Affiliate, May 2023-August 2023
- Report and produce daily radio and web content for Vermont Public, including interviewing sources, writing and building web pieces, and creating audio content.
- Produce in-depth feature stories from start to finish by executing a complete story plan. This includes pitching story concepts, research, reporting, scripting, voicing, and editing.
- Extensive research and reporting for multiple stories on July 2023 flooding in Vermont and its effects on homeowners, communities, agriculture, and the environment.

- Produced content for a fact-checking website managed by Voice of America which debunks disinformation and misinformation distributed and shared globally.
- Independently conduct research, contact sources, fact check, pitch story ideas, and write articles for Polygraph.info.
- Monitor and research state media websites, social media platforms, and reports for false and misleading claims from international officials.
Digital Media & Reporting Intern
VTDigger, June 2022-August 2022
- State-wide reporting on Vermont politics, breaking news, and feature stories. Pitched, researched, and worked with editors on long-term stories and conducted interviews with a variety of individuals. 
- Worked in a fast-paced newsroom, worked on deadlines, and covered a wide range of topics.
- Developed photojournalism skills to add visual elements to written stories. Documented significant events, such as protests after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, press conferences, and state-wide political campaigns related to midterm elections.
- Reported extensively on local and state-wide 2022 midterm elections, including debates, candidate profiles, and election night coverage. Developed a strong reporter-source relationship to secure exclusive coverage of a candidate dropping out of the US House race.
